Raymond Y. Newton has called Downtown Los Angeles home for a majority of the past four decades.

The city center and its diverse inhabitants have been the subjects for countless bodies of work in front of his camera’s lens and dozens of exhibitions throughout Southern California.

In addition to fine art, his professional cityscape photography has been included in numerous film and media productions, including the 1993 Academy Award Best Picture PHILADELPHIA.

For most of the 1990s he was the photo editor of the influential art magazine Coagula, where his documentation of the New York and Los Angeles art worlds became part of the look of the bi-monthly, must-read tabloid.
